About
Shellie Bailey has always been a lover of story. She can’t remember a time without a book in her hand. She holds a BA in English from UMass Lowell where she learned to dive deep into the classics and contemporary novels of our time. She lives in Kentucky with her husband, two kids, and a husky. Shellie believes that a whole new world is just a page away.
Why did you start writing?
My childhood was complicated. Layers upon layers of insecurity, worry, and sometimes happiness. It’s hard to explain a life I barely understood myself. I’m still unpacking it every day.
But I think some of the troubles I had are universal ones: fitting in, making friends, parent drama, and fears of failure. Reading has always been an escape for me. A way to dive deep into new lives, new worlds, and experience lifetimes. Some of my earliest favorites were Fear Street, The Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, The Babysitters Club, and Sweet Valley High.
I want to reach others the way story has reached me.

Favorite Books/Series
Oh, this is a hard one. I have so many books that have poured into me for different reasons at different stages of life. Some I’ve just enjoyed for the adventure and escape which is my main reason to read, but I also love a good lesson learned or when a new window of the soul is opened.
It’s quite a diverse list and there are so many more I could add here, but here are a few worlds that have stuck with me over the years.
